Imagine a celebration inspired by an enchanting fae world, where the line between fantasy and reality dissolves in a tantalizing dance performance and party. Step into the House of Mist as you admire the stunning murals and artwork at the Culture House DC.
Dancers will embody the grace and power of the fae courts, their movements a seductive blend of beauty and danger. Local DMV artists will dazzle you with a mix of aerial, burlesque, bollywood, and contemporary dance performances.
As the final notes linger in the air, DJ Glen North ignites the party with guests sweeping onto the dance floor in opulent fae attire. The night pulses with laughter and music, a celebration of unity and imagination, where you can lose yourself in the world you adore, if only for a night.
Attire: Guests are encouraged to wear your finest gown or suit in theme (fae ears optional). Our costume contest is sponsored by Friends to Lovers, the first romance bookstore in the DC area. Dress to impress for a chance to win an amazing prize from this fantastic woman and queer owned bookstore!
FAQ
What kind of dancing will be in the performance? Dancers will be cast as different characters from the series, with a variety of styles including aerial, burlesque, bollywood, and contemporary dance performances. Please note this is an adult event (18+).
Will there be food and drinks? We will have a cash bar with themed cocktails/mocktails, beer, wine, and some non-alcoholic options. There will be some small concession type snacks for sale (M&Ms, pretzels, etc.).
What is the easiest way to get there? The venue is metro accessible (Waterfront or Navy Yard stops). Street parking is limited, so recommend taking public transport or lyft, but you may luck out with parking!
What should I wear? Come dressed in theme! Can be Spring Court florals, plunging Night Court necklines, or whatever strikes your fancy. If in doubt, a nice formal dress or suit is perfect, and fae ears is even better! There will be a costume contest with an amazing prize sponsored by Friends to Lovers.
What kind of music will you be playing? DJ Glen North is known for his fun upbeat dance mixes that are a mix of pop/top 40s, dance, hip hop, and some nostalgic throwbacks! You can listen to some of his past mixes here: https://dancethejourney.com/listen.
What is accessibility like? There is 1 flight of stairs up to the performance space. Everything is on the 2nd floor except for the bathrooms. There are 20 chairs for seated options during the show, which anyone will be allowed to use after the show if they need a break from standing during the dance party.
